Great Adventure

So we ordered Chinese food this past weekend. My fortune read: "Your life becomes more and more of an adventure!" Great--that's all I need. As if raising "twinfants" isn't enough of an adventure. Now if you are talking about a driving cross-country type of adventure (which my friend is doing at this very moment BTW) or backpacking across Europe type of adventure, I'm in. If you are talking life with twins, I'm not sure I'm ready. I'm comfortable right where I am. Ryan & Kaylie seem to have other plans. All of the sudden, the nap schedule they were keeping, up and changes overnight! What?!?! I'm not ready for that. You can't do that to mommy. They used to take a morning nap 9:30-10:30 ish and then go back down around 12:30/1:00. Now all of the sudden we have so much exploring to do that we can't be bothered to go down for another nap until 2/2:30. (of course I figure this out after 2 days of CIO (cry it out) for naptime--and Ryan (I kid you not) only taking a 5 minute nap.) Then of course I worry about when they will have their 3 o'clock bottle if they are sleeping. I might have to move that up to 2:30 or something. We are still tweaking things. Eek! Adventure...just great.

If I remember right, I think Rachel dropped to one nap a day around 11 months. In some ways it is better, that one nap can go on for 3 hours! Although, beware the days it lasts for 20 minutes, LOL! Poor Emily at only 5 months is getting one nap a day because if Rachel's up, she's up. If she sleeps through a bottle, I just give one to her when she wakes up and then the next one at the regularly scheduled time. Even if it is only an hour apart, she'll take it. Maybe it will work for you guys too!

We seem to be in nap transition too. Suddenly their 2 hour afternoon nap won't go longer than 45 min! I keep trying to get them back to sleep and its not working. Just when we think we have a routine going, right??

Mine seem to be doing some weird napping at 5 months! Maybe it's just a phase?? Who knows! Once I think I've got this twin thing figured out it up and changes! :)
By the way-I LOVE that pic in front of the tulips-precious!

Mine dropped to one nap a day around 9 months old and boy was I not prepared either! It was rough.
But, once we figured out what worked best for them, it made my life a lot easier.
Right now mine wake up at 7:30am, go down for a nap from 12-3:30 and then are in bed for the night at 7pm. Gives mommy plenty of time to have a "life" too.
Good luck!

Liz,
I had put an answer to your question before on my blog, so I figured I would just answer here...
I use Smilebox.com. I have a yearly membership and rather than me posting Smilebox slideshows, I save them to my computer as JPG and then upload the pages (or print them out & put in scrapbooks or frames).
It's really SUPER easy and affordable!

I remember that transition well. I actually liked it, because my almost 3 slept a lot longer with one afternoon nap. Now we are going through another transition, though - my almost 5 doesn't nap at all anymore and my almost 3 seems to think that his afternoon nap is long enough at 45 minute. Eeek.....
