Pool Time

We took them to the pool in our development. There is a small baby pool only 1 ft deep. We were there for a few minutes and I started to feel particularly overconfident in my M.O.M abilities. I said to Bob, "I think I can handle this on my own." Sure enough, in the next moment, down goes Ryan and at one point they both took a dive under at the same time. I quickly changed my tune and said, "Maybe not!" They both had fun splashing anyway.

Another Beach Trip!

Yesterday we headed down to Grandma & Pop Pop's shorehouse again. It will be our last visit until September, since they begin to rent it out for the remainder of the summer. We did our usual swim in the backyard pool. Ryan had fun from the start, but Kaylie needed to ease into it as with any unfamiliar situation. I sat with her on the outside of the pool and then even Grandma got IN the pool! She did well. This was the longest she has stayed in the pool--all of about 15 minutes, but much longer than any of our other tries. Here she is enjoying herself in the pool.

Another First!

We took another trip to the shore on Sunday. Kaylie and Ryan had their first dip in a pool!! Ryan loved it but then became infatuated with the stones in the driveway. We think he thought they were giant Puffs. He was actually throwing tantrums because we wouldn't let him eat them. Go figure! Kaylie was not too sure of the situation at all. She clung to the side and just tried to figure it all out. Eventually she started whining to get out. It took about 20 minutes to get them ready to go swimming, (not including the time spent blowing up the pool, & filling the pool earlier in the day), and the whole experience lasted 10 minutes MAX! Yeesh.
