Finger Painting

Eh, our first finger painting session didn't go over too big. They lasted about two minutes. You can see from the pictures that they don't like having paint all over their hands. I guess they aren't used to it, so I will have to try again.

"Umm yeah, there's stuff all over my hands Mommy."

What happened to my hands?

Kaylie investigating but Ryan is getting outta there!

After, I just had them jump into the pool to wash off. Easy clean up!

I've Got Some Catching Up to Do Part 1

Sorry I have neglected the blog for a bit. I should say that we are all healthy again and have been for a week or so now. Life is so much better with healthy kids let me tell you. The weather has been nice so we have been spending a lot of time outside. Ryan and Kaylie are about to turn two on the 30th so I am getting ready for their party.

We went down the shore this weekend to Grandma and Pop Pop's shorehouse. We took a walk over to the bay and played on the playground.

Through the tunnel.

On the swings....their favorite at the moment.

For nostalgia sake. This picture was taken Memorial Day last year. They both fit on one swing! The difference a year makes!

How do you keep two toddlers and a six year old busy? Why you have them "paint" the fence with water. Guaranteed fun for a half hour minimum! I know you are all going to try it aren't you? They loved it and yours will too.

Taking a break from painting.

Here's an Idea

Is your beach cabana collecting dust? Why not open it up inside and let the fun begin! Ryan & Kaylie had a great time playing peek a boo with each other and climbing in and out of the hut chasing each other. I've made the observation that my kids really like to wear hats inside!

The Dr.'s Are In!

I bought the kids doctor kits the other day. Kaylie got into it a bit more than Ryan but I would say they both liked them. We had fun and I'm sure with time they will understand what the stuff is for.

Rice Box

Well, I tried this little gem of an idea out. Um, I'm not going to lie and say it was neat in any way shape or form. So if you like neat activities, turn away now! I worked in a daycare that had an actual rice table and I do not recall it ever being a messy activity--weird. I will say that the kids liked to feel, taste and scoop the rice but they really liked throwing rice all over! I thought the blanket would catch most of the rice (which it did) but I did not anticipate them throwing the rice! I don't have anything to combat that. I don't recommend doing this everyday, unless it's a good day to vacuum. It was a good sensory experience for them though and we'll do it again.

Yep, they will try to eat it.

Pics of the Week

When it's 95 degrees out, we beat the heat by blowing bubbles in the house. Very hard to blow bubbles and get a good picture, but there you go.
A new thing we started is Pillow Time. I put all the couch pillows & Boppies on the floor and they climb all over them. Kaylie LOVES this, Ryan too, but she gets SUPER-excited about it.

The "OK" Corral- I call this contraption the OK Corral because I know they are safe in the fenced in area. It's a Superyard XT that we picked up at a consignment sale. I think it retails for $65 or something and I got this just like new one for $20! Can't beat that. It has 6 panels, but I need to get the extension kit to make it two panels larger so they have more room. K liked the new digs, but Ry whined to get out the whole time.
